About this Product

American Jews are in trouble—and most of them don't know why.

In the span of just a few years, antisemitism has exploded from the fringes into the mainstream of American life, coming simultaneously from the progressive left and the populist right. Jewish students are harassed on elite campuses, synagogues require armed guards and Jewish politicians are publicly accused of dual loyalty. A growing chorus of voices—from Tucker Carlson to Ilhan Omar—is demanding that American Jews choose: America or Israel.

This is not a political crisis. It is a biblical one.

In Countdown: American Jews and God's Plan for Redemption, Rabbi Elie Mischel—an Orthodox rabbi who left America to raise his family in Judea—argues that what is happening to American Jews today is the direct fulfillment of biblical prophecy. The Hebrew Bible predicted exactly this moment, and it tells us exactly what it means.

The answer begins with a question that Jews and Christians have gotten wrong for centuries: Are the Jewish people a religion—or a nation? Everything depends on the answer.

Countdown traces this question from Abraham through the Book of Esther to the streets of modern America, showing how the same test that confronted Esther in the palace of Ahasuerus now confronts American Jews. Will they remember who they are? Will they answer God's call—or remain in exile until the choice is made for them?

For Jewish readers, Countdown is a loving but unflinching challenge to reckon honestly with who the Jewish people are, what God is asking of them, and how much time remains.

For Christian readers who love Israel and know the Hebrew Bible is living prophecy, Countdown illuminates the deeper drama unfolding before our eyes—and explains why the fate of the Jewish people determines the fate of all nations.

The countdown has begun.

Well written and timely. Food for thought. Will recommend it !

Very good writing! I’m digesting it slowly, and eager to keep learning!

Love this book.We are Catholic, but we have many Jewish friends and some family members who are Jewish.

Good reading

I’m amazed at the continuity of the biblical text. There has to be a different way to refer to the Bible other than old and new. You really can’t separate the Bible from its beginning Genesis to revelation Time period o k but not the central figure.

very well written a must read for Jews in America. I am planning on making Aliyah in the Fall. I am sharing this book with every Jewish person I know

Great read and education

I read and process information and ideas in my mind. But the truth in this content wastes no time going to my heart. It’s me Rav Mischel is talking about, a secular American Jew not likely to be able to move to Israel. But the words won’t leave my heart and I am an American Jew nonetheless, not a Jewish American. Now I understand the difference. If I was financially able I would make 1000’s of copies of this book available to all Reform, Conservative, and Haredi institutions and synagogues, piled up on the table so they would be compelled to look, to read, to notice their hearts as they do. Countdown is a warning to all of us, a truth that needs to be told, now. I hope people will make this book available to all the young people in America who also need to learn the difference. G-d speaks through Rabbi Elie Mischel. Listen, hear, open your eyes and see.

Fascinating to share true truth.

Book arrived as scheduled. Very informative !!

As a pensioner, in Africa, the printed book plus shipping is totally out of reach for me. If you had an E-book available, at a more reasonable price, I would have bought it.

Great book. Nice addition to my End Times library.

I was expecting a hardbound book for the price; instead, I received a paperback item.
